Cecelia "Cissy" Norwood

April 17, 1952 - February 24, 2022

Cecelia “Cissy” Louise Norwood Date of Birth: April 17, 1952 Date of Death: February 24, 2022 Cecelia “Cissy” Louise Norwood passed away at home with her sister and a dear friend by her side. She is survived by her sister, Vicki Norwood Glore (Jerry Glore), her nephew, Joshua David Norwood and her sister cousins, Jacqulyn Maloy Stacy (Alan Stacy), Pamela Maloy and her dear and faithful friend, Janice Ingram (Nicholas and Nick). Cissy was blessed to have been Godmother to many children, some now adults, and your presence and love in her life have meant more to her than you will ever know. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eartis Skinner Norwood, Ralph Norwood and her brother, John Norwood. Cissy was born in LaGrange, Georgia and was raised in Atlanta, Georgia attending and graduating from Sylvan Hills High School in 1970. She also attended Radford University in Radford, Virginia and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. Cissy had two great loves in her life and that was children and music. Cissy taught middle school for 20 years in Fulton County. There was no greater joy for her than being with her students and teaching every day. She was awarded grants and was also named Teacher of the Year on more occasions than can be remembered. She made many lifelong friends as she travelled far and wide for concerts and so many of her friends have reached out to us and we are forever grateful. The family takes great comfort in knowing that Cissy is in a heavenly place with those that went before her and certain that Cissy has cranked up the music and is dancing free of pain. White Columns Chapel & Cremations is honored to serve the family of Cecelia "Cissy" Norwood.
