Harry Vinson Tanner, Jr., age 82, of Mableton passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Harry was a man who stood out because of his dedication and faith. He was a Mableton resident for 54 years and attended Mableton Church of God where he ran their sound system for 18 years. He retired from Mead Packaging as a maintenance mechanic after 30 years of service. More importantly, he was a husband, a father, a grandfather, and even a great-grandfather. Although he will be missed, his memory will live on through all of the many lives that he touched. Harry is preceded in death by his wife, Rennie Jo Finley Tanner in 2005 and his parents, Harry and Flora Tanner. He is survived by his children, Yvonne and Rev. David Brownlee of Douglasville, Teresa Weese of Lithia Springs, and Jeffrey Tanner of Mableton; six grandchildren; and six and a half great-grandchildren (one is on the way). The family will receive friends Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm at Gene Davis-White Columns Chapel in Mableton. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 11:00am in the funeral home's chapel. Interment will follow the service at Georgia Memorial Park in Marietta.
