Janie Ayres

Biography Janie Williams Ayres, age 89 of Mableton passed away on June 14, 2010 of congestive heart failure at the Presbyterian Village in Austell. The daughter of the late Leonard Perkins Williams and Mary Jane Williams, she was preceded in death by her husband, Noble Brawnson Ayres after 65 years of marriage, her son, Christopher Harrison Ayres, and her sister, Mary Williams Green. She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Robert W. Brooker (Patty) and Mrs. B. Randolph Gurley (Penny) of Atlanta, and two sons, Mr. Noble Brawnson (Chip) Ayres, Jr. of Mableton and Mr. W. Leonard Ayres of Sacramento, CA. A graduate of Andrews College in Cuthbert, GA, she was a homemaker and an active member of the First Baptist Church of Mableton where she taught Sunday School for many years, was a member of the Joy Class, sang in the choir, and headed up the flower arrangements for the church. She was also active in the Covered Bridge Garden Club. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Mableton, 5385 Church Street, Mableton, GA 30126 or the Presbyterian Village, 2000 East-West Connector, Austell, GA 30106. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 19 at 10:00AM at the First Baptist Church of Mableton with Rev. David York officiating.
