Lois Musselwhite

Biography Lois "Aunt Bit" McHelheney Musselwhite, age 92, of Mableton, passed away December 24, 2013. She was born in Atlanta, the daughter of Sara May Thomas McHelheney and Grover Cosmore McHelheney. Mrs. Musselwhite and her husband of 25 years, John Daniel Musselwhite travelled this country and Japan. After he retired as an army captain they ran a store and gas station in Smithville, NC. They also had a home in the Isle of Palms, Charleston, SC. Following his death in 1972 she returned to Mableton to live with her sisters, Dorothy Bell and Helen McHelheney. She worked as a florist for Ruth's Flower Shop and had been a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. After the passing of her sisters she moved to Lilburn to live with Ron and Linda Stoddard, where she became a member of Northlake Church of Christ. Since the passing of her nephew Lamar Bell in July, survivors include her nephew Julian "Ronnie" Bell of Ellijay and many great nieces and nephews who affectionately refer to her as Aunt Bit. The family will receive friends at 11:00am Saturday, December 28, 2013 at White Columns Chapel in Mableton. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00pm in the funeral home's chapel. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Park.
