Robbi Hicks-Wylie

April 30, 1961 - January 11, 2010

Robbi Jeanine Hick-Wylie, age 48, of Greensboro, GA, died Monday, January 11, 2010. Born in Fulton County, Georgia on April 30, 1961, she was the daughter of John Aaron Hicks Jr. and Nellie Louise Ware Hicks of Powder Springs. She graduated from McEachern High School in 1978, attended Emory University and University of Georgia and graduated from Kennesaw State University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology. With more than 27 years in the Travel Industry, Robbi has worked for Eastern Airlines, American Express Travel and was President of Discount Travel Galleria at Akers Mill Square from 1990 to 1993. She had a "wonderlust" for travel that took her all over the world. She thrived in discovering new and exciting places and sharing this with her staff and fellow travelers. Robbi was also a writer for Southern Distinction which allowed her to share her passion for travel with others. She also operated "Chemo Limo" for cancer patients. For the last fifteen years she was Owner, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Lakeside Companies at Lake Oconee. On June 4, 1982 she married Robert Vincent "Bob" Wylie, Jr. In addition to her husband and her parents, she is survived by a son, Denver Aaron Wylie of Greensboro, GA; a sister, Sherri Moore of Marietta, GA; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; in laws, Robert and Virginia Wylie of Marietta, GA and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00pm at White Columns Funeral Chapel in Mableton with Rev. Johnathan Woodward Officiating. Burial will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers are Bryan Moore, Brian Jones, Jonathan Moore, Jason Moore, John Bryan and Tony Smith Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday at Gene Davis-White Columns Chapel in Mableton with burial in Kennesaw Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. The family requests any memorial to be made to the Elks Aidmore Childrens Center, 2394 Morrison Rd., Conyers, GA 30094 or to the Susan G. Komen Foundation For the Cure 4840 Roswell Road, Atlanta, GA 30342
