Robert Matney

Robert Dale Matney of Mableton, GA passed away August 5, 2014. He was born in Rock Camp, WV and was the son of the late Robert Henry and Edith Matney. He started working for the old C&O Railway in Covington, VA which later became part of CSX. He retired after 43 years in Jacksonville, FL. Robert Dale Matney was baptized in Roanoke, VA December 25, 1948 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. At his death he was an elder in the Mableton Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Juanita. Also surviving is a daughter, Kathy and husband Matt Holbrook of Crossville, TN; a son Alan and wife Patricia Matney of Powder Springs, GA; and three grandchildren. A brother Keith and wife Gail Matney of Lexington, NC also survive. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 4850 Ewing Rd, Austell GA 30106-1634, 1 P.M., Saturday, August 16, 2014.
