Virginia Freeman

Virginia Wyatt Freeman, age 83, of Mableton, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Virginia was born to Garvie and Lucy Wyatt on December 15, 1927 in LaGrange, Georgia. After marrying Merlin J Freeman, Virginia and Merlin moved to Mableton in 1958. Merlin opened Squirrel's Service Station while Virginia opened and operated Ann's Florist for many years. Virginia sold the business to begin working in the Real Estate industry and soon thereafter created Freeman Realty Company. She was a member of Mableton First Baptist Church, Covered Bridge Garden Club, and the Chamber of Commerce. Virginia loved her home that was on a lake filled with geese and ducks, a vegetable garden, and a rose garden. She enjoyed sharing the flowers and vegetables that she grew with her family and friends. Both, Virginia and Merlin, enjoyed meeting their friends for breakfast at Martin's Restaurant. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Garvie and Lucy Wyatt. She is survived by her loving family which includes her husband of 64 years, Merlin J Freeman; daughter Donna and husband Tom Zavoral; daughter Deborah Kelly and Terry Mitchell; sister, Ellen May; grandson, Michael Kelly and wife Stacey; and great-granddaughters, Maia Kelly and Blythe Kelly. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 16, 2011 from 9:00am-11:00am prior to the service at 11:00am at White Columns Funeral Chapel in Mableton. Interment will follow at Mount Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton.
