Our History

Our History

White Columns Funeral Chapel in Mableton was advertised as "the first fully planned funeral home facility in Cobb county" in the Marietta Daily Journal. The first and only full service funeral home in Mableton, Gene Davis Funeral Home was built in 1965 by Gene and Betty Davis. It was their dream come true and they raised their children in their footsteps to serve the community and to help those during such a difficult time. In 1974, the funeral home officially took the name White Columns Funeral Chapel  (a nickname for the Mableton location by Gene). White Columns has continually strived for improving our original building by adding on a large showroom and installing solar panels. We will continue to make  improvements in the future to make our home a cozy, comfortable place to be.

Over the years, our families have returned home for our services from Douglasville, Smyrna, Marietta, Atlanta and beyond. It is our commitment to care for the families we serve as if they were our own. We help families from every culture pay tribute to the life that has been lived. We invite you to call, ask questions and come to visit our funeral home. When you get to know us, you will feel at ease as we organize a tribute that will bring comfort to those left behind. We assist your family in planning a funeral that meets your needs and your loved ones wishes. Whether you prefer our chapel or your place of worship, a traditional service with visiting and viewing, a memorial service with cremation or a green burial; we are here to prepare a meaningful experience to honor your loved one. We will listen to you and help to arrange a celebration of the life lived. We encourage you to call with questions and to visit us for a personal tour.
